I appreciate someone who can make me laugh.

After I mentioned to a friend that the birds were singing outside, he said he thought all birds went south for the winter. I said, "This IS the South" and emailed this photo that I took from my window of a cardinal in the Harry Lauder's Walking Stick in the back yard. He asked how he could be sure it wasn't photoshopped and I told him I don't have those sorts of photoshop skills.
A few minutes later he emailed me this:

  1. good photoshop work. (or a flock of cardinals happened by his place - what a coincidence)

    1. The bigger coincidence would be if he happened to have an identical shrub in his backyard.

  2. if i look outside and see that many cardinals i might get a little scared...
that many cardinals together means they are electing a new pope right? smiles.

  3. LOL. But even Photoshop has to start from something.

Come to think of it, my Jack and Jill post today is just rife with Photoshopping.

  7. He obviously had the skill to Photoshop :) However, I love your shot of one single bird, very dramatic looking! We don't have cardinals here, beautiful birds!

  9. I actually hear more birds singing in the winter, probably because of the stillness and less leaves to absorb their sound.

  10. He he! Photoshop is creating a whole parallel universe of faked people and objects. Can we believe any image at all that's in the public domain?

I love all those Photoshop disasters of people with missing ears, extra hands and assorted screw-ups.

    1. I've become pretty skeptical. People have really become too good to be true.

  11. I've seen photoshopped pictures before, but your picture made me think of the fish I sometimes photographed....instead of one measly fish on the bank, there can be countless ones. Thanks for the idea.
