How about we start with a walk?

We've been getting a lot of much-needed rain the past week, and the kids and I drove through a storm to go for walk this afternoon. We walked four miles along the greenway trail, while I annoyed them by stopping periodically to take pictures. But hey, I was the one with the car keys.

    1. That's funny - to me the knot looked like a sulky face coming out of the tree!

    1. The sky was astounding that day, although most of the time I was on the highway and couldn't get photos.

  8. Nothing wrong with a tree trunk with a huge knob on it. Makes it easier to climb.

    1. Thanks! Sometimes when the lighting is dim, the textures become even more interesting.

  12. Mushrooms are amazing and tasty, even though most folks think they are gross! I'm glad your boys still like to go on walks with you.

    1. Quite honestly, I don't like them cooked. Not the flavor, but the texture. I do love raw mushrooms, though.

    1. I don't have nearly enough knowledge about wild mushrooms to know which are safe and which are poisonous, so I leave them be.

  14. I would love to walk here! Your pictures, as usual, are wonderful! I think the little mushroom in the tree is my favorite but all are worth framing.

The one with the brothers together is priceless. I like that they are not moving at a fast pace, and how they are looking at the things around them... that you can tell that they are seeing.
    Very cool.

  15. Beautiful walk! The trails where I walk are very dry lately. I guess we need some of that rain.
Thank you for the photos. They are such a pleasure.

  17. The younger one is just as tall as the older one. I look forward to walks with my boys. Right now it's just and exercise in frustration. I end up carrying the baby - he hates the stroller if my arms are available and dragging the four year old.

    1. Almost - he's an inch shorter. I didn't enjoy walks with the kids when they were the ages of yours either. ut I promise that gets better!
