  2. The colors of nature, or the effects of nature, both are quite beautiful.

    1. It's more of an indentation, I think - I don't believe the hole goes all the way through.

    1. When I got this comment as an email, I thought, "What blue stone?" That's actually a piece of a mussel's shell.

  5. Awesome photos!

Loved each and everyone, especially the 7th and 10th one down. I have this attracting to rusty metal. I thinks beautiful.

Also, I love your post title. Very clever!

    1. In a multi-course meal, you eat something like sorbet in between course to cleanse the palate for a new taste. The last ost took it out of me, so the cleansing is more for me.

  8. An amuse boche, each quite tasty. And now the entree?

  9. I'm sorry that exercise stirred up bad memories. These small, beautiful things should bring everything back into balance!

    1. It's okay - it's not as if the memories aren't there. I just don't generally focus on them.

  10. great interesting shots. I'm curious about the rusty bolts. Is that part of a pier structure?

  11. Great photos! I especially like #3, #6 and #9. Say, these photos would make an interesting personality test, don't you think? Better than Rorschach!

    1. I like them, but they are too recognizable for a personality test. The Rorschach depends on its ambiguity.

  12. The seventh picture looks like a map of Europe. Isn't that the UK and Ireland on the left-hand side?

There's something about rusting rivets that makes me feel all warm and cosy inside...

    1. I don't have a great schema for a map of Europe, so I'll have to take your word for it.

I think there is something oddly comforting in the inevitable reclamation of everything by the earth. And the fact that rust is a warm color helps.

  13. What is that brown, bumpy thing. If it was green, I'd think it was peas in a pod.
