Not a bad start to March.

I spent the last three afternoons working in the yard. It was increasingly warm throughout the weekend - it actually got up into the high 60's today. I've decided to put my house on the market in April, giving me one month to get it ready to show. My first task outside was clearing all the leaves and weeds from the flower beds.  That doesn't sound like much, but there were a lot of leaves.
See that pile? That's what I've done so far. Not the Christmas tree next to it - that would be the work of my procrastinating neighbor. The same one who doesn't shovel his driveway when it snows and has to slide his car sideways down it instead.
When I heard the church bells ringing at six o'clock, it hit me that in a week it will be the same light at seven o'clock. Daylight savings time, warm afternoons, and crocuses in bloom. I might make it to spring after all.

  1. Yes, we're getting peeks of Spring here as well. In fact, a few days last week it actually felt like the Spring! And before we know it, Spring will be here :)

LOVE the color in that last shot of the flowers. Beautiful!

And the best to you in selling your home!

    Have a great week!

  4. Hope your house sells fast when you list in next month! Looks like you were hard at work preparing it! I am looking forward to the light longer in the day next week after we change the time (after I get used to missing that one hour of sleep). I do thrive with bright over dark so it is a good thing when we have more light indeed!

    1. So do I! But the market is slow around here, so I'm not holding my breath.

  7. Getting a house ready to show is a pain. Fixing all those little things you've overlooked for years. Keeping everything passably clean and tidy. Keeping the garden in good order. You've made a good start with that massive pile of leaves.

    1. And try it with a kid in the house - it's nearly impossible to keep it presentable.

  8. You didn't get hit with the ice storm? Another crappy weekend here, shoveling out from under. I look forward to hearing your realty adventures.

    2. LOL I'm afraid all I've got handy right now is a sea of ice. You don't want to go skating?

  11. Yes you will. Of course you will.
You wouldn’t want to miss spring, would you? Now that you’ve managed winter?

  12. Hmm - might be a neighbor you don't miss. It's hard to pick neighbors.
