Time for warmer-weather clothes.

It seems like the biannual closet shift rolls around faster all the time. The cold-to-warm shift is the one that makes me happy. I love packing away sweaters and hats and gloves and bringing out short-sleeves. My closet is set up so that half is more readily accessible and I swap everything from one side to the other as the seasons begin to shift. I always take the opportunity to cull out things I haven't worn and drop them off to donate them. And then I watch the forecast and wait. I've been running in a tank top and skort for at least a month now, and haven't worn a coat to work all week. In fact, I had the windows open day and night through the weekend because it was so warm.  Oh, I know - it's a little early for sundresses. But I'm ready! Goodbye boots, hello sandals. Turn, turn, turn.

    1. But Brian, you are missing out. Sundresses are very freeing. Why limit yourself? :-)

  3. You must enjoy rubbing it in. That sounds wonderful. I will be looking forward to our turn sometime in the next 2 months. Maybe you'll be sick of hot weather by then and you will be jealous of me!!! Patience......it is a learned skill. Still working on that here.

    1. Well, no. I'm just reveling in it when I get the chance. But I have to tell you, I don't get sick of warm weather. Not even in sweltering August.

  4. We're not THAT warm. We had one super nice day but then we got a chill again.

  6. I'm sure it is a good feeling to see warmth is returning! We pretty much wear the same wardrobe year round here, flip flops in winter, shorts in winter, etc., so we don't swap out clothes, but it is a good reminder to go and look in the closet to see if there is anything I'm not wearing to donate it. Enjoy the day!

    1. Although I much prefer warm weather, I love boots, so I'm glad for some cooler weather.

  7. A skort? That's a new one, I've never seen such a garment in the UK! It's strictly skirts or shorts here.

I tend to wear the same clothes whatever the season. I just add or discard a jumper. Our summers aren't even warm enough for T shirts any more.

    1. They are compression-type shorts with a skirt of abou the same length over it. Very comfortable and cute, but less revealing than tight shorts.

In the summers here, sometimes even a tank top fels like too much@

  8. Even me, someone who loves winter, I am SO ready for spring!

However, you would never know it was spring here because it's been raining and snowing for the past couple of days...and it's freezing.

One day it's warm, the next day it's cold.

    Bi-polar weather!?

    1. Here, too. Crazy back and fort weather. Cold, cold tonight! If it's bipolar, it's of the rapid cycling variety!

  9. Amen to that but big sigh it's freezing rain over here. I got a little excited when I saw your Target bags. Today is the official opening of Target Canada. It's a big day for me:) And I also run in a skort.

    1. I love Target. A much nicer alternative to places like WalMart.

      Skorts rule!

  12. Oh hell, I thought I was going to die today outside in the wind and snow. Summer is just a dream for me right now.

    1. Sumer is a dream for me, too. But every Spring-like day we get, I celebrate.

  13. As the weather is less weather-y here, I don't need to do much of a wardrobe change. But I agree with some others who said this is a good reminder to go through and do some culling. I kind of enjoy getting rid of things.

  15. Way to go. I have never been a person who changes out her clothes, even when I lived in Illinois! Of course living in Southern California we where most things year round.

    1. As the winters have gotten milder here, I've permanently weeded out some of the heavier winter clothes.

  16. In an earlier blog of yours, you posted a picture of your hand. I copied it, took it to a palm reader today, and she said you have a late winter/early spring snow coming your way, she saw shoveling, lots and lots of snow shoveling, mittens, coats and the like.......

Or, perhaps a little nip in the air would be good for you.....

  17. If only!
I have my eye on a whole pile of clothes to be discarded, but not just yet.
If this winter doesn’t stop soon I shall have to start mending holes.
